Health Canada has transparent free online access for all pharmaceutical products (drugs database) (generic drugs or brand) that have been registered, dormant, or canceled in Canada anytime. The use for this website is simple, easy to use and user friendly.

Step 1:

Go to https://health-products.canada.ca/dpd-bdpp/index-eng.jsp , it will take you to the Health Canada government website for Drug Product Database online query.

Step 2:

Select “Approved”.

Step 3:

Go to input name “Active ingredient(s):” and type in the name of the active ingredient of the product that you are looking for. You can also input the brand name of the product under “Product Name”, and if you would like to refine your search with the manufacturer name you can do that too. I like to leave everything open so that I can see all the options available in Canada.

Step 4:

Click “Search”.
